The Jewelled Turtle 2024 10oz Gold Proof Coin is the latest release in our Jewelled series, which is part of The Perth Mint’s Masterpieces collection of extremely limited mintage luxury pieces.
Each unique release in the Jewelled series has been a collaboration with John Glajz, a Singapore-based Argyle Pink Diamonds Icon Partner, and has incorporated pink diamonds as a key element of the design.
The 2024 edition is struck from 10oz of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality. The coin is mounted with a three-dimensional representation of a sea turtle depicted within a natural scene, incorporating a coral reef with fish and other marine life, the ocean surface and the sun. The 18-carat gold turtle itself sits above the coin surface, its body covered in hand-set pink diamonds, natural white diamonds, and an emerald for each eye. The innovative design uses the jewels as key elements in creating the scene rather than simply ornamentation. The white diamonds set in a ribbon-shaped line represent the sparkling ocean surface and a single pink diamond depicts the heart of a stylised sun.
